SCORE JOURNAL 36 2025 6TH SCORE BAJA 400 RACE PREVIEW SCORE BAJA 400 HISTORY The SCORE Baja 400 was introduced in 2019, when veteran SCORE Trophy Truck racer Ryan Arciero won it Overall. Since its inception, the intent was not only to expand the SCORE series with a fast-paced race, but one that was also as challenging as the other three races. Most importantly, it created a strategic fourth and consistent event in the SCORE World Desert Championship that would serve as both a challenge, but at first, as a key qualifier for the starting positions in the coveted SCORE Baja 1000. The race was unfortunately postponed in 2020 due to the worldwide pandemic, but it was continued in 2021. Now in its sixth year, the race has taken root with SCORE racers, especially those who want to win each of the four SCORE races overall and earn the SCORE Grand Slam title. To date, only SCORE Trophy Truck racer Bryce Menzies has earned the SCORE Grand Slam title, winning the SCORE San Felipe 250, SCORE Baja 500, SCORE Baja 400 and SCORE Baja 1000 Overall. Menzies has also become the master of the SCORE Baja 400, winning the race consecutively from 2021-2024. Current SCORE racers who have a good chance at winning the 6th SCORE Baja 400 and also earn the SCORE Grand Slam title include, Alan Ampudia, Rob MacCachren, Luke McMillin, and Tavo Vildosola Jr. • Ryan Arciero won the first SCORE Baja 400 in 2019 • Bryce Menzies is a four-time SCORE Baja 400 winner and the only racer to earn the SCORE Grand Slam title JACK WRIGHT NMEDIA3
