While Ede's connection with Feiler is not yet documented,
the painting he acquired accords well with those he
was collecting in the mid-1960s. Boskenna three
(1963), named after a small settlement near Lamorna
in Cornwall, is an abstract composition featuring three
pebble-like forms against an off-white ground. It is shown
in A Way of Life as a transient, partially documented
background to Gaudier-Brzeska's Caritas (1914), a
sculpture that recurs several times in the book in its more
usual placement on the round dining table originally from
Elm Row.

Describing this table, Ede wrote:
Even Brancusi's 'Fish' was once its centre-piece. It
must have been then that one of the evening papers
wrote 'The Edes entertain extensively but not
expensively; you may sit down to a three-course or
even a two-course dinner but in the middle of the table
may be a statue worth thousands of pounds.'
