SWEEPING THE PODIUM Brock Heger Takes Another First-Place Finish At The SCORE Baja 400 By Larry Saavedra Photos by Get Some Photo With three SCORE races for the 2025 season now in the record books, the Polaris SCI Motorsports Factory Team is clearly dominating the SCORE UTV Open class. They’ve swept the podium in the last two official SCORE races, and team racer, Brock Heger, in the No. 1896 RZR Pro R, looks unstoppable after taking first place in the last three events of the four-race series. Since signing with Polaris, Heger has always maintained that his personal results are simply part of the overall team strategy. “It’s super cool to win the SCORE Baja 400, but it’s all about the team,” he said. “We race for Polaris RZR and the SCI Motorsports program. At the end of the day, our goal is to get first, second, and third on the podium. That’s all that matters. We simply want to beat everyone as a team.” Moments after crossing the finish line at the SCORE Baja 400, Heger told SCORE Journal his RZR was flawless, attesting to its proven durability in harsh terrain. He also acknowledged the scale of the Polaris support at the SCORE Baja 400. “SCI Motorsports and Polaris Factory Racing are always on site, and they did a great job with our pit stops at the Baja 400,” he said as he unbuckled from his RZR at the finish line. “We had a few flats that I definitely earned toward the end after hitting rocks in the silt. Overall, it was a super clean race. I can’t thank the guys at Polaris and SCI enough for giving me such a hot-rod. The fact that my teammates Cayden MacCachren, and Max Eddy Jr. are also on the podium only makes it more special.” Heger says he was great to see teammate Cayden MacCachren on his bumper through most of the race. “Cayden and I spend a lot of time together, and we’re racing identical cars. When he finishes second, he’s probably a little bummed, but we both understand that it’s about a team win, not an individual win.” Asked about his car’s setup at the SCORE Baja 400, Heger keyed on the FOX Shocks specifically. “The FOX shocks are incredible with four different modes that can be triggered from my steering wheel. Each mode is individually tuned by the suspension team at Polaris. It’s crazy being around it because it’s all computer-driven.” Heger is constantly using the modes from comfort to performance, depending on the terrain. “You definitely notice the difference in how it impacts the RZR,” he said. “It is always fun to challenge myself to do things I didn’t think I could do. The SCORE Baja 1000 will be no different. I will be going there to win it.” Among the enthusiasm for the possibility of a total season class sweep, he is still undecided about racing solo. “I did it last year to prepare for Dakar,” he said. “That was the main reason for racing the 2024 SCORE Baja 1000 solo. Not sure I’m going to do it again at this point, it’s too soon to tell.”SJ
