THE COURSE An 854-Mile Loop Of Technical And Fast Terrain The 58th SCORE Baja 1000 will once again be a loop race that will start and finish in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. The 854 mile race will have it ceremonial start on the Boulevard Costero, in front of the Rivera del Pacifico Cultural Center, and include three physical stop checkpoints. Sportsman Classes will run a 720.95 mile course and there is a 36 hour time limit for racers to reach the finish line. After the start, competitors will race East towards Ojos Negros, then South to Los Encinos before reaching Uruapan on the West . They will head towards the West Coast to Enrendira, Colonet and down to San Quintin. After reaching the first Checkpoint, the will head South East passing El Tabon and Santa Catarina before turning to the mountains and approach CataviƱa. At the La Turquesa Wash, racers will head towards the coast at race mile 380 before heading north along the coast up to Puertecitos. At race mile 460 the head up into the mountains North towards San Felipe and past El Chinero and La Ventana. At race mile 640 they turn back South West before reaching San Matias and head North aback up to Santa Catarina and back through Ojos Negros before turning West back to Ensenada and the finish line.
