INTERMEDIATE SHOW JUMPING
Teaching and Rider
Requirements
It is the independent seat, in all jumping and galloping
positions, which permits:
• The rider to maintain elastic contact and connection
throughout the jumping effort.
• The use of independent, coordinated aids to:
• Generate balance, energy, and the correct speed,
• Ride an accurate track and line,
• Lengthen or shorten the stride.
• To move between galloping and jumping positions without
loss of rhythm, balance, or focus.
• To adjust their position in support of their horse's balance,
loss of balance, or way of going, or to influence the shape
of the horse's jump and the speed/balance on landing,
without interfering with the horse's jumping effort.
