In 2024, the League conducted a survey to thousands
of new team prospects to learn about potential
barriers to participation. Through that research, the
League learned that startup funding costs was the
most significant barrier to getting new teams started at
local schools.
To overcome this challenge, the League developed
a New Team Initiative to help prospective schools by
providing free registration fees, free safety equipment,
and more – a $400 value!
By helping new teams with their startup costs, the
League's new initiative will provide more participation
to students and schools across the nation.
