CONTINGENCY & TECH Where Fans & Racers Meet By SCORE Staff Photos By Jack Wright NMedia3 This year’s Contingency and Tech days were held Wednesday November 12th -13th to accommodate all of the racers in attendance. During this portion of SCORE’s pre-race activities, racers lined up in Ensenada, Mexico and got an opportunity to speak with SCORE hosts Rat Sult and Kevin Johnson at the top of the SCORE ramp. All of the racer interviews were live streamed across SCORE’s website, Facebook page, and YouTube Channel to tens of thousands of Contingency Day viewers during race week. Thousands of fans were in attendance, meeting and getting autographs from those racers in attendance, and grabbing any swag teams would toss out to the crowds. • Race vehicles lined-up on the Boulevard Costero for Contingency and Tech days • Fans got to meet with some of their favorite racers , like Chris Polvoorde, for photos and autographs • Larry Roeseler was honored with a commemorative plaque presented by SCORE VP Marketing Jim Ryan • SCORE’s various sponsors had hospitality areas like this one for AutoZone Mexico • ARCO Mexico hospitality area with ARCO Girls • SCORE fans also crowded the manufacturer’s row where SCORE Sponsors such as Sylvania Lighting were stationed • Fans gathered alongside the street to get swag thrown out by teams and SCORE sponsors • During Contingency and Tech, racers and teams were interviewed by emcees Rat Sult (shown) and Kevin Johnson • Sal Fish autographing a fan’s T-shirt BFGoodrich Tires recognized for 50 years of Tire Developement with SCORE. SCORE International presented a commemorative plaque to BFGoodrich’s Nate Hunt. This was in recognition of the company’s 50th Anniversary of introducing the BFGoodrich Tires Radial T/A Off-Road tire line at the 1976 Baja 1000.
