SLAM-DUNK! Tyler Lynn and the SLR Team Top Pro Moto Unlimited Class By Mike Vieira Photos by Get Some Photo Tyler Lynn and the 7X Slam Life Racing Honda team managed to sweep the Pro Moto Unlimited class for the year with a win in the BF Goodrich 58th SCORE Baja 1000. The team had a mostly trouble-free ride from start to finish in this race, which Lynn describes as “nearly perfect.” Their Honda CRF450X topped all the Moto classes, starting first and finishing first. “That’s always a good feeling,” he says. “And to go undefeated this year has been awesome. It’s not something I could have ever dreamed of.” Lynn rode his longest stint in Baja, about nine hours, rolling up the first 400 miles and opening up more than a 15-minute lead. Other than some difficulty adjusting to riding into the rising sun in the morning, he had no problems on the bike. He also got to ride what he says is his favorite section in Baja, from around race-mile 25 to 80. Co-rider David Kamo then took over for the next racing section. He had a minor crash in the rough portion of the course around mile 500, losing a bit of time, but remained in the lead. The spill didn’t cause any serious damage to the Honda, and it was easily repaired at the next pit-stop. At mile 630, Carter Klein got his turn in the saddle and rode on to the finish, opening up the team’s lead as the miles wore on. He encountered some rain near the end of his ride, but had no problems with it, other than having to clean his goggles more frequently. After such a great season, you’d expect the team to be relaxing a bit before thinking about next year, but that’s not the case. They’ve already got their sights set on the King Shocks 39th SCORE San Felipe 250 coming up next March. “We’re already getting prepared for racing the SCORE series for 2026 with the 1X plate,” says Lynn. He and Klein will definitely be teaming up, and a third rider will be announced soon. It will certainly be hard to top the results they achieved in 2025, but they’re clearly ready to try. SJ
