In Savannah, you can get hitched in one of the city's historic
squares or on the beach on Tybee Island. Or for a more
formal event, consider renting the garden at the Juliette
Gordon Low Birthplace Museum, which can accommodate
up to 100 guests for cocktails. Guests can stay next door
at the newly opened The Douglas, a luxury boutique hotel
inside a restored mansion with a gorgeously appointed bar.
Other venues to consider include the Davenport House
Museum, which has a courtyard flush with camellias,
azaleas, and jasmine, and Tybee Island's Beachview Inn
& Spa, which has a lovely outdoor pavilion a block from the
beach. For that "going to the chapel, gonna get married" vibe,
book a date at The Chapel by the Sea, which was built for
the 2010 film "The Last Song." Have the event catered by
Erica Davis Lowcountry or Wiley's Championship BBQ.
Red Gate Farms, located on the outskirts of downtown, is a
picturesque 125-acre farm that offers three unique wedding
venues, including a recently restored barn. Or just elope with
an ancient tree covered in Spanish moss as your witness.
For out-of-town guests, book a block of rooms at The
Marshall House, a historic inn with a resident ghost, or
Perry Lane Hotel, a luxury hotel that houses The Emporium
Kitchen & Wine Market in its lobby. Treat the wedding party
the morning before the big event at Glow Medical Spa, a
destination for aesthetic treatments, or The Heavenly Spa
by Westin.
