Handling smaller loads reduces multiple risk factors for both worker and equipment safety. Plan the plowing route to minimize the need for reversing. If rear visibility is compromised, ensure a designated signal person is present. Avoid overloading the plow or bucket. Snow should not accumulate or spill over the top of the blade. If this occurs, reduce the amount of snow being pushed at one time. Do not plow at high or unsafe speeds. Stop and inspect the plow and equipment for damage following any unintended contact with fixtures or obstacles. Ensure equipment is fitted with appropriate tires, with tread patterns suited to the specific worksite conditions.
