He arrived at TRIA Rink with a police escort, signed a one-day contract, and joined the team for morning skate. That night, he took part in player walk-ins, served as the flag bearer, and even pranked a teammate with Marc-André Fleury. To top it off, Weston was named Player of the Game by the Pittsburgh Penguins. A few weeks later, Weston attended the Hockey Fights Cancer game on Nov. 16 in a suite with his friends and family. Weston completed his battle with cancer and passed peacefully at home on Nov. 18, while watching a hockey game on television.
