Improve Workplace Culture Changing workplace culture means moving from complacency to accountability, treating safety as seriously as productivity, and showing that MSDs can be prevented with good planning and clear standards. Improving workplace culture means addressing deeply rooted behaviours and priorities that compromise safety. When cutting corners and unsafe practices become normalized, and key performance indicators emphasize production over safety, workers can feel pressured to rush tasks, increasing the likelihood of injuries. A long-standing belief that MSDs are inevitable further reinforces complacency and discourages proactive prevention. Shifting this culture requires redefining success metrics to balance productivity with safety, building accountability for safe practices, and promoting the mindset that MSDs are preventable through proper planning and adherence to standards.
