3. Reduce Risk of MSDs
Reducing MSD risks means looking at the big picture,
organizing storage, enforcing safe work habits, and
using reporting systems to make safety better every day.
Reducing MSD risks requires closing physical and
procedural gaps. Inadequate storage can force
awkward lifting, while the lack of MSD-specific safe
work practices (SWPs) and physically demanding
tasks increases strain. Without a reporting system,
organizations miss critical data for spotting trends
and targeting interventions. A comprehensive strategy
should improve storage, apply MSD-focused SWPs,
redesign tasks to reduce strain, and strengthen
reporting to support continuous improvement.
