Reduce Risk of MSDs Reducing MSD risks means looking at the big picture, organizing storage, enforcing safe work habits, and using reporting systems to make safety better every day. Reducing MSD risks requires closing physical and procedural gaps. Inadequate storage can force awkward lifting, while the lack of MSD-specific safe work practices (SWPs) and physically demanding tasks increases strain. Without a reporting system, organizations miss critical data for spotting trends and targeting interventions. A comprehensive strategy should improve storage, apply MSD-focused SWPs, redesign tasks to reduce strain, and strengthen reporting to support continuous improvement.
