THE KING SHOCKS 39TH SCORE SAN FELIPE 250 PREVIEW By Dan Sanchez Photos by Get Some Photo The end of March is actually the beginning of the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship Season. It begins with the King Shocks 39th SCORE San Felipe 250 the week of March 25-29th. Although this is one of the shortest distance races of the four SCORE races, it is also one that has the most brutal courses for vehicles and racers to challenge. The SCORE San Felipe is also an important race to win, as points earned at the finish, count heavily towards a team’s chances of earning a Class Championship. Race events begin with SCORE Trophy Truck, Trophy Truck Legends, and Trophy Truck Spec and Class 1 racers earning their starting positions at the Method Race Wheels Qualifying session. The short-loop course just outside of downtown San Felipe, takes place Thursday, March 26th and is not open to the public for safety concerns. Every turn, mishap, and lap time of qualifying, however, will be aired on SCORE’s Live Stream that can be viewed on SCORE International’s website, and social media pages. The following day is perhaps one of the best ways for SCORE Fans to see, up close, racers, teams and their vehicles as they parade through San Felipe’s downtown for SCORE Tech and Contingency day. New rules dictate that any race vehicle entering the SCORE areas during Tech and Contingency must be operated by two registered race participants, who must remain in the vehicle at all times. For safety reasons, additional registered participants and team members will not be allowed in these areas. Fans and team members can view the SCORE areas along the route from outside the designated areas. Race Day begins early on Saturday March 28th with the green flag dropping at 6:00 am, for the start of the Moto and Quad classes. This gives them an approximate 3.5-hour gap between the last vehicle and the start of the SCORE Trophy Trucks. The SCORE Trophy Trucks stage and start with the green flag waving them out into the San Felipe desert at 10 am. Racers will have a 14 hour time limit from their official start time, to finish the race. Race results will be posted the following day, Sunday March 29th, on SCORE’s social media and in the SCORE on-site headquarters at the Pavillion at El Dorado Ranch.
