PRE OPERATION 1. Prepare the workspace: remove everything off the jointer except for the workpiece. 2. Adjust the fence: set fence position and angle, as needed. 3. Set the cut depth: max 1/8 th inch. 4. Inspect the wood: avoid loose knots, defects, nails or foreign objects. 5. Start dust collector: turn it on before powering up the jointer and starting the cut. REQUIRED PPE Safety Glasses Hearing Protection Always wear all required PPE PRECAUTIONS 1. Inspect equipment - Do not use if equipment is damaged. 2. Inspect guards/ shields - Do not use if guards/shields are missing or damaged. 3. Tie back long hair, ensure no loose clothing, remove jewelry, no gloves while machine is in operation. HAZARDS Cuts Entanglement Dust Noise Flying debris Kickback Report any issues or findings to your supervisor immediately ! Only use equipment if you are trained and authorised to do so.
