The rotation of the cutterhead is an
entanglement hazard. Long hair, loose
clothing and / or jewelry can be drawn
into the machine.
Ensure the self-adjusting guard is working properly prior to use. Also,
confirm that any access to cutter movement behind the fence is guarded.
Wear proper apparel – remove loose clothing / jewelry and secure long
hair before use.

Contact with the cutterhead can cause
severe lacerations.
Ensure the self-adjusting guard is working properly prior to use.
Use push blocks to keep hands away from the cutter while moving the
workpiece.

The workpiece can kickback and be
thrown towards the operator at high
speed.
Avoid removing too much material in one pass.
Maintain control over the workpiece.
The cutterhead must be sharp and properly maintained.

Debris from the cutting can be thrown
towards the operator. Damage to the
knives can also cause debris to be
thrown from the machine.
Use protective eyewear and or face shield.
Follow machine and tool maintenance recommendations from the
manufacturer.
Check for nails, staples, knots, or other defects in the workpiece before
cutting.

Damaged electrical connections or
components can create a risk of shock
or inhibit safe operation.
Regularly inspect the electrical connections and plug to confirm they are
free from damage.
