PRE OPERATION 1. Prepare the workspace: clear the table except for workpiece or stock. 2. Install drill bit and chisel: a. Insert both chisel and drill bit into the bushing, so that drill bit is in the chuck. b. Place a thin 'spacer' between the chisel and bushing. c. Use a wooden block to push both upward fully, and tighten the drill bit chuck. d. Remove spacer, push chisel up as far as it will go and tighten the chisel locking screw. This creates the appropriate clearance of the drill bit to chisel (1/16 th to 3/16 th depending on wood type). Remove chuck key. 3. Square the chisel: loosen the chisel locking screw, align chisel to fence, and retighten. 4. Set the depth: adjust the depth stop to achieve desired chisel cut depth. 5. Position the worktable: adjust forwards/backwards, left/right based on needs and lock in place. 6. Secure the workpiece: place workpiece on the table against the fence and use a clamp or vise to hold workpiece (as required). REQUIRED PPE Safety Glasses Hearing Protection Always wear all required PPE PRECAUTIONS 1. Inspect equipment - Do not use if equipment is damaged. 2. Inspect guards/shields - Do not use if guards/shields are missing or damaged. 3. Keep drill bits clean and sharp. 4. Tie back long hair, ensure no loose clothing, remove jewelry, no gloves.
