PRE OPERATION
1. Inspect and prepare the workspace: inspect for loose knots, splits, defects and foreign objects. Remove any
access material using appropriate saw prior to sanding.
2. Prepare the workspace: clear the table except for the workpiece or stock.
3. Set the mitre gauge: use the miter gauge for added control of the workpiece during sanding. The miter gauge
can also be set to various degree angles for maintaining accurate angles.
4. Adjust worktable angle: worktable angle may be adjusted to allow for the use of the whole surface of the edge
sander abrasive. Follow manufacturers instructions to ensure incline angle direction is correct and worktable is
firmly fixed on the machine.
5. Adjust worktable gap: ensure worktable is set to minimize the gap between the abrasive and the worktable to
avoid pinch points.
6. Check the abrasive: ensure abrasive grit is in good working condition prior to use. Abrasives with rips, tears, and
substantial burns shall be replaced prior to use following the manufacturer instructions.
7. Start the wood dust collector: turn on the dust collection system and ensure its working appropriately.
