PRE OPERATION 1. Prepare the workspace: clear the table and surrounding floor except for the workpiece. 2. Ensure grinder is properly secured: verify the grinder is firmly bolted to a bench, workstation or pedestal so it cannot shift during use, inspect hardware to ensure its tight and in good condition. 3. Inspect wheel: inspect the wheel for chips, cracks or visible damage. Do not use a damaged wheel. 4. Adjust tongue/spark guard: adjust the tongue guard to have maximum 6mm (ΒΌ") clearance from wheel. 5. Adjust tool rest: adjust tool rest to have maximum 3mm (1/8") clearance from wheel and be positioned above the grinding wheel's center line. Ensure tool rest is securely fastened after every adjustment. Never adjust the tool rest while wheel is moving. 6. Set eye shield: position the shield over the point of operation. REQUIRED PPE Safety Glasses Hearing Protection Face Shield Non-slip approved CSA footwear Always wear all required PPE PRECAUTIONS 1. Inspect equipment - Do not use if equipment is damaged. 2. Inspect guards/shields - Do not use if guards/shields are missing or damaged. 3. Inspect grinding wheel for visible damage or cracks - Do not use if damaged. Damaged wheels can explode apart. 4. Secure long hair, ensure no loose clothing, remove jewelry, no gloves while machine is in operation.
