PRE OPERATION 1. Secure mitre saw: make sure the saw is secured to work area and does not wobble or move. 2. Prepare the workspace: clear the table except for the workpiece or stock, check stock for debris, nails or screws, ensure floor is clean, dry and free of tripping hazards. 3. Set blade angles: set correct angles and locking mechanisms for mitre or bevel cuts. 4. Set blade depth stop: if equipped, set the depth control mechanism to the desired depth. 5. Align with the fence: use the fence position to guide the work, using an approved spacer if needed. 6. Secure the workpiece: use a clamp for the workpiece, support longer stock with stands or rollers. 7. Start dust collection: turn it on before powering up the saw and starting the cut. REQUIRED PPE Safety Glasses Hearing Protection Dust Mask or Respirator Protective Work Boots Always wear all required PPE PRECAUTIONS 1. Inspect equipment - Do not use if equipment is damaged. 2. Inspect guards/shields - Do not use if guards/shields are missing or damaged. 3. Inspect material, ensure it is free of nails, screws or debris. Do not cut unapproved materials such as steel. 4. Secure long hair, ensure no loose clothing, remove jewelry, no gloves while machine is in operation.
