Ensure the self-adjusting guard is working properly prior to use. Before using the equipment, remove loose clothing and jewelry, and secure any long hair to prevent entanglement. While operating the saw, keep arms out of slide path, keep hands at least 15 cm (6") from sawblade and never reach over or around the blade. Sec. 25 (1) OHSA Sec. 25 (2)(a),(d),(h) OHSA Sec. 24 and 25, Reg. 851 Sec. 83, Reg. 851 B Contact with the sawblade can cause severe lacerations or amputations. Ensure the self-adjusting guard is working properly prior to use. Never push material into the blade. Keep hands at least 15 cm (6") from saw blade. Secure all material prior to cutting. Smaller pieces should not be cut with a mitre saw. Sec. 25 (1)(a),(d) OHSA Sec. 25 (1)(b), OHSA Sec. 25 (2)(a),(d) OHSA Sec. 24, 83, Reg. 851 C The workpiece can kickback and be thrown towards the operator at high speed. Only use the saw the proper way – making straight down plunge cuts or forward push cuts. Never pull the saw towards yourself. Properly support long workpieces on both sides of blade, do not allow workpiece to bend or warp during cut. Never trap the cutoff piece between the blade and a stop block. Maintain control over the workpiece. Only cut approved materials with a mitre saw. Sec. 25 (1)(a),(b),(d) OHSA Sec. 25 (2)(a),(d),(h) OHSA D Debris from the cutting operation can be thrown towards the operator. Damage to the blade can cause debris to be thrown from the machine. Use protective eyewear and or face shield. Follow machine and tool maintenance recommendations from the manufacturer. Prior to cutting, check workpiece for nails, staples, knots, or other defects. Never trap the cutoff piece between the blade and a stop block. Allow blade to come to full stop before raising or releasing plunge arm.
