GRAND MARSHAL CLYDE STACY The Co-Owner of RPM Off-Road Will Serve As GM At The 7th SCORE Baja 400 Race By Gabriel Garcia Clyde Stacy, the co-founder of the RPM Racing team and Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee, has been selected to be the Grand Marshal for the 7th SCORE Baja 400. Stacy started his racing career later in life, as being a coal mining magnate in Virginia never gave him time to do get involved in racing but was something he had longed to do. and never having the time to. When he finally entered into off-road racing, he quickly earned numerous victories over an 11-year window in SCORE World Desert Championship, winning 10 SCORE season class point championships while racing in 10 different classes (2009, 2010, 2011(2), 2012, 2013(2), 2017, 2019, and 2020). These include SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE Trophy Truck Legend, Trophy Truck Spec, Class 1, Class 8, Stock Full, Class 9, Class 5/1600, Class 2, and Class 17. During his racing career Stacy also earned 21 class race wins, including six each in the SCORE Baja 1000 and SCORE Baja 500, four in the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge, three in the SCORE San Felipe 250, and one each in the SCORE Baja 400 and the SCORE Challenge of Champions in San Felipe. He has also earned seven Rod Hall SCORE Milestone Awards in his career (2009, 2012, 2013(3), 2019 and 2020). His off-road and racing endeavors allowed him to co-find RPM Racing with Justin Matney in the late 2000s. He and Matney won many races together and their racing team also helped other racers to start and/or continue their racing carriers. At one point there were as many as 11 RPM Off-Road entries in various SCORE races. RPM racing continues to enter its Geiser Brothers V16 Chevy race truck in the marquee SCORE Trophy Truck division with Max Gordon and his Hall of Fame father Robby Gordon as primary drivers. Stacy still listed as an additional driver for the No. 5 truck. “Clyde Stacy is a very special class of unique individuals who built a remarkable SCORE racing career after retirement age,” said Jim Ryan, SCORE Vice-President of Marketing and Sales. “Mr. Stacy is a remarkable person, who has truly made a lasting impression not only with SCORE desert racing, but with many racers along with the people in the Mexican States of Baja California and Baja California Sur. He has a lasting legacy in SCORE and Mexico. It sincerely humbles us to have him as the Grand Marshal for the 2026 SCORE Baja 400.”
