Matt said. "The boys were at
an age where they loved hock-
ey and just kind of got to soak
it all up, and it was so cool."
Wyatt developed quickly,
played at the NTDP and wowed
NHL scouts at the Chipotle All-
American Prospects Game last
January. Brooks is a late bloomer
and undrafted, his father said, but play-
ing for the Gophers will lift his pro pros-
pects. Joey, having competed against his older
brothers all these years, could turn out to be the
best of the bunch.
What is the future going to bring?
Matt, now working as director of player develop-
ment for the University of Minnesota, will be at
the U with Wyatt and Brooks. Bridget will live in
Michigan with Joey for his stint with the NTDP.
Therefore, dozens of games, tons of travel, at least
one or two overseas trips, all while the family is
split between two states.
"It will at least be in the top three chaotic years
we've ever had," Bridget said with laughter. "I just
feel so fortunate. Did I ever envision anything like
this? No, never. Has it been worth it? Totally."
