Driving Local Development
Along with construction partners Lee
Lewis Construction, Inc. and WRA
Architects, the StarCenter Properties team
built a facility that Northlake and Denton
County residents can be proud of, and one
that leaders hope will strengthen the local
economy and create a lasting impression.
"I think we're making an impact already
on the local economy, from the hotels,
to the restaurants to the retail side," said
Morris. "The GM of the outlet mall on
the other side of the road came over and
told us they've seen a spike in their sales
since we've opened up. Local restaurants
and businesses have never had so much
recognition. People didn't know where
Northlake was. And now they do."
From attracting visitors from other parts
of the Dallas-Fort Worth MetroPlex and
across the state, to providing a boost to
local business and serving as a hub for large
tournaments, the StarCenter has already
made a big impact on the community, and
vice versa.
"The overall feedback has been great,"
said Cooper. "You can look at a set of
blueprints but once it's real and you're
walking in it, it's hard to put into words
the way it's turned out. It all really came
together as a team effort. It was a great
project and everyone involved is excited
about it." J
