1 N ovember is that lovely in-between month when autumn is in full swing, the Christmas countdown is beginning to creep into conversation, and there is still plenty of good cooking to be done before the festive frenzy takes over. And we have just the recipes to keep you inspired! This issue brings the return of Gourmet Today to our television screens, with a new series airing every Sunday at 12.45pm on NET TV. The programme puts home cooks in the spotlight, celebrating favourite family recipes, local ingredients and the stories that make food so much more than what is on the plate. We revisit some of the recipes already featured on the show, from our resident chef 's warming pumpkin soup to Noel Paris's Għadam tal-Mejtin and Sandra's traditional San Martin pie. We also welcome Antoine Pisani with his lampuki recipes, making the most of one of Malta's favourite seasonal catches. Fancy joining us in the Gourmet Kitchen? We are inviting cooking enthusiasts to come and share their own recipes on the programme. Whether you have a family classic passed down through generations or a dish that friends and relatives always ask you to make, we would love to hear from you. We provide the ingredients; you bring the recipe and the story behind it! Meanwhile, the first month of school has flown by. Are those lunchboxes already looking a little repetitive? Yesenia Consoli from Apron and Whisk comes to the rescue with creative ideas to make lunchtime more exciting for little ones (and whoever is packing those lunchboxes). There is plenty more to discover in this issue, so put the kettle on, get comfortable and let the autumn cooking begin.
