FESTIVAL Issue 54 / 2013 www.guestlist.net 13 7 Re vi ew s Wireless It was the weekend, we took a trip to the Wireless Festival in London. It was relocated this year to The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, and with the weather sizzling, the shizzle HOV was a godsend to this three day non-stop party. Being the headliner for days 2 and 3, it was left to Shawn to entertain the crowd. He kicked it off with big old school tunes, 'It's a Hard Knock Life', 'Encore', 'Run This Town' and '99 Problems', setting the festival alight. He then moved on to GOOD music's 'Clique', positively reflecting masses, who loved every second. Capping off the show with a duet with Justin Timberlake, it was perfected as they belted out 'Holy Grail' together. Mr Carter had a stage presence like no other with a crowd of 60,000; he had them chanting every single word! "I'm so excited" expressed the multi-millionaire, as were we! Jay-z has once again proved himself to be on top of the game. This was a crazy weekend never to be forgotten. Encore, do you want more? Electric daisy carnival There are many things you can do for 11 hours. One could travel to anywhere in America; You could also maybe walk from London to Manchester or even watch a season and a half of 'Game of Thrones' or... The festival was absolutely teeming with talent from 'Hardwell' to 'Rusko' all bases were covered. The atmosphere was one of excitement and pride. There was no shortage of home talent as well with artists such as 'Flux Pavillion' and 'Sub Focus' sending fans wild with excitement. Dance supremo's 'Nero' also played at the festival and received a rapturous reception. Wonder – kid 'Madeon' headed up the second stage and flew the flag for elecro house with artists such as 'Alesso'. Mistajam , Chuckie and Shy FX also rocked the spot. What a night what a day. If this is the first and only time EDC comes to London then we are glad we got there. However after the resounding success it has to return. As people file out of the park and make their way towards the tube stations chants of the main hooks from 'Calling' and 'Years' by Alesso ring through my ears. Stratford station is absolutely buzzing.
