It was the last scoring play of the contest. The Boilermakers struggled several times close at the ISU goal line. On six occasions, Purdue failed to gain the yard necessary to reach the end zone. Freshman Dalyn Dawkins had five consecutive carries near the goal line in the second quarter. While he had a pair of seven-yard carries in the five rushes, he failed on three tries to punch it over from the 1. Trevor Foy and several of his teammates give high fives to the students as they leave the field following the Boilermaker victory. Foy and the offensive line helped double the Boilermakers rushing performance from a week before at Cincinnati. The Boilermakers played a flawless game offensively in terms of not turning the ball over, but there were a couple of nervous moments as quarterback Rob Henry almost appeared to be passing the ball to himself during this play in the second quarter.
