The event, which drew 160 guests, aims to connect "those with a need to give with those who have a need to receive." Larry Smith, Catholic Charities president and CEO, outlined the three groups the organization serves—women's services, the homeless, and child and family services—and welcomed Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila who spoke on the Christian obligation to serve the poor and needy. The event highlighted many of Catholic Charities' ministries, including the Lighthouse Women's Center in Denver, the Guadalupe Shelter for homeless in Greeley, the Father Ed Judy House shelter in Denver for women and children, and foster family services.
