FESTIVAL
Reading is nothing if not surreal,
and it is a break from reality to
delve into a weekend of hedonism.
With Eminem as a headliner, this
year was definitely promising.
The turn-out was around 90,000 people per day and
statistics estimate the consumption of 1 million pints
of lager, 100 reported crimes and 51 arrests. The headliners this year, including Chase & Status, Biffy Clyro,
Green Day and Eminem, received a roaring response,
with thousands of people cramming around the main
stage causing 50 people to be taken out with injuries
within the first two minutes. The atmosphere was alive
with energy and even the smaller scale performers received incredible amounts of attention. A$AP Rocky,
Giggs and Alex Clare who were on smaller stages had
swarms of people gathered outside. Overall, it was an
unstoppable blast, pillaging its way through the fields
leaving nothing but carnage and thousands of content music lovers.
THE AUDACIOUS BENICASSIM
INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

The party lifestyle is what this festival is famous for, and the "sleep all day, party all night" vibe was as strong as ever.
Sun, sea and sand. That's the main attraction for many of the
people that took to the Spanish beaches for Festival International, Benicassim; that and the line-up. With Headliners
such as Arctic Monkeys, Killers, Queens of the Stone Age,
Beady Eye and dance acts such as Rudimental, John Talabot,
Skream and Beni Benassi, Benicassim 2013 was not one to
miss.
What Benicassim-goers really enjoyed was the "Party Hard"
routine; the music doesn't start until 6/7pm, giving you plenty of time to fall asleep in the sun and get that burn you al-
ways wanted. With Ibiza rocks owning the Pringles stage till
6am, you'll hardly have use for a tent. Due to this year's massive success, Benicassim 2014 is a definite must-go, so grab
your sun hats and don't lose your passport this time.
