With the coldest recorded
temperature
in Ross-Ade
Stadium for a
game in five
years, the
Illinois squad
looks to be huddling up on the
sidelines. Coach
Tim Beckman
also removed
all the large
benches from
his sideline as
he prefers to
have his team
stand throughout the game.
Justin Kitchens gets a
high five from position
coach Jim Bridge after
the senior offensive
tackle leaves the field.
The Boilermaker ground
game picked up 120
yards, easily their highest
output in conference play
this season.
Frankie Williams appeared to
have an 84-yard punt return for
a touchdown in the third quarter, but the Boilermakers were
whistled for a block-in-the-back
penalty. There was no scoring
in the third period — Purdue
wasn't able to get into Illinois
territory.
After throwing an interception
late in the fourth quarter, Danny
Etling winces in pain while being
attended to by Dr. Greg Rowdon.
Etling appeared to hurt his left
shoulder after being sacked by
Jonathan Brown just before halftime but never missed a snap.
