How to Use this Book We are proud of the growth that we experience every year at the SXSW Interactive Festival. With that growth we embrace the challenge to reinvent our approach in order to create the best attendee experience possible. For 2014, we've made a number of improvements to our program guide. INTERACTIVE SESSIONS ORGANIZED BY THEME With multiple venues, SXSW Interactive is many events rolled into one. In order to better navigate the event, we have designated a section where one can discover Panels, Core Conversations, Keynote and Featured Sessions organized around a specific theme. SPECIAL PROGRAMS IN 2014 Unlike any other conference, SXSW Interactive offers a variety of opportu- nities to learn and engage with speakers and other attendees beyond our traditional daytime programming. Browse through the Special Programs section of this guide to find schedules for Book Readings and the Future 15 Sessions that take place at the Austin Convention Center, Workshops at the AT&T Conference Center, Mentor Sessions at the Hilton Garden Inn, and Partner Programming and Meet Ups throughout downtown Austin. In this section you'll also find info on our Latinos in Technology Track (LTT) and the returning Movement (MVMT) House (formerly Blacks in Tech). Need a place to get an early start to your day, where you can connect, brainstorm or just catch up on the day's activities? Find out more about our Home Rooms in the Special Programs section. Welcome from Hugh Forrest Amidst the hundreds of activities scheduled over the next few days, please remember that the values of innovation, inspiration and cre- ativity shape everything that we do at SXSW Interactive. Innovation means that we try to showcase new and up-and-coming technologies, processes and industry thought leaders at SXSW. Inspiration means that we always aim for programming that will leave registrants enlivened, energized and excited. Creativity means that the process of generating new ideas is often more important than generating new technologies. Have a new idea for the 2015 event? Your feedback is an extremely valuable part of the ongoing SXSW organizational process. We read all of your emails and your input plays a large role in shaping the next edition scheduled for March 13–17, 2015. SXSW Interactive is a com- munity event and the more we understand about our community, the more we continue to improve. Remember, you can always reach us at interpanels@sxsw.com. Finally, if you like the SXSW Interactive Festival, be sure to attend SXSW V2V in July. Find more about this exciting event at sxswv2v.com!
