WITH THE HIGHEST PERCAPITA
WINE CONSUMPTION
According to the latest statistics released by the Wine Insti-
tute, Vatican City is the country with the highest consump-
tion of wine per person.

The figures show that Vatican citizens
drink on average 74 litres of wine - that's
roughly 105 bottles per person every year.
That's almost the double of the amount
drunk in Italy and France, and the triple
of the quantity consumed in the UK. Be-
yond being required to take ceremonial
Communion wine, the National Catholic
Reporter said Vatican residents are more
likely to be old, male, highly educated and
eat in larger groups – all factors that can
contribute to greater wine consumption.
Vatican population is of 800 people and
there's only one supermarket, supplying
everybody with tax-free wine. Which could
also be a slight incentive, it would define-
tely be for us... but maybe that could be
the problem.
It's not unreasonable to guess people
from outside of the city get their wine at
a very low price in the Vatican supermar-
ket, inevitably distorting the results of the
research. But then again, who cares. It's
cheap alcohol!

HONEST BURGER
Their very British burgers are honestly good.
Honest Burger is really inspired by using
great British produce and currently has
four locations in the UK's capital – Brix-
ton, Soho, Camden and Portobello Road.
They're not your run of the mill burger
joint though, as every burger comes with
a puffy, glazed bun and chips sprinkled
with rosemary salt. If none of their regular
burgers (including chicken, beef, cheese
and vegetable fritter) are to your taste
then you can request the restaurant's
specials menu - and they've even got re-
freshing homemade lemonade to seal the
deal. But it's not just us - The Other Side
Magazine raved about Honest; "The British
burger has been born"
