OSHI | GUESTLIST
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN
UP TO RECENTLY?
Quite a lot! My Intabeats
Ministry of Sound radio
show is going well.
I've also been touring
America, playing at
clubs and festivals
across Europe, curating
at festivals, making
music new, remixing, live
streaming, helping with
the MC Fats 'We Gotcha'
LP project and of course
starting a new club night
called Soul In Motion.
YOUR MONTHLY SOUL
IN MOTION NIGHT WITH
NEED FOR MIRRORS IS IN
FULL SWING, CAN YOU
TELL US ABOUT HOW
YOU GUYS CAME UP
WITH THE IDEA?
We felt that culturally
there was nowhere to go,
mid-week in London so
instead of complaining
about it, we started Soul
In Motion. We knew Drum
& Bass needed to be back
in Central London and the
Basement is the perfect
spot. The sound system
is excellent and staff and
venue are top notch.
London is really spoilt to
have this club at its heart.
WHEN DID YOU START
WORKING WITH NEED
FOR MIRRORS?
I met Mosus who now
produces under the name
Need For Mirrors in 1999
when he offered me my
first ever New Zealand
/ Australia tour after
hearing a mix I did on the
front cover of Knowledge
Magazine that year. The
tour did really well so
we continued to work
together touring for the
following fifteen years
and became good friends.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS
FOR THE EVENT MOVING
FORWARD?
There are definitely big
plans ahead but I can't
talk too much about that
at the moment. For the
time being, Soul In Motion
is all about pushing the
music and merging newer
names with veterans of
the scene to play the best
of current D&B that moves
the soul, mind & body. The
night has myself and Need
For Mirrors as residents
plus we have three guest
DJs. In the past few
months we've had Krust,
