Travel agencies in Indonesia, Singapore and Japan will have an extended access to Garuda Indonesia's fares, seat availability and schedules via the Amadeus system. The partnership also means Garuda Indonesia will benefit from unparalleled sales reach through Amadeus' global network of travel agencies. Commented Erik Meijer, EVP Marketing and Sales Garuda Indonesia, "Amadeus' extensive travel agency network in Asia Pacific will help us reach new customer segments and strengthen our presence in Asia. We also see this agreement as a natural extension to our existing technology partnership with Amadeus, which we implemented to help us improve our customer service offering ahead of our entry into the SkyTeam Alliance." Today, 40.1% of the world's air travel agency bookings are made via Amadeus, with 80% of Amadeus bookings worldwide are made on airlines with which Amadeus has a content agreement.
