My mother definitely was the hugest impact on me as she was a very serious touring vocalist. She performed traditional Greek music in the boozookia, as we call them in Greece real classy like full band, everyone in suits... My mother always in a proper gown , high heels , furs coats... the works...everyone that would talk about my mother all said the same thing: she always had a microphone in one hand and a suitcase in the other with a voice that could kill. I wish my voice would one day be as good as hers although it takes many life experiences a lot of joy and pain to get that much texture and emotion in a voice. Slowly I think I am getting their still maybe its better not to ever be as good as her as she has had so many trials and tribulations, the thing that truly defines a story teller in the realest form. I remember being too small to be allowed in the clubs (literally maybe three or four) on tour with my mom up late nights. My step father would hold me up in the window of the club so I could watch my mother singing at late hours of the night, far past a child's sleep scheduled it prepared me for the life I lead now. I did not have a normal childhood, surrounded with children. By three years old I spoke Greek fluently with the attitude of a 30 year old as everyone around me was an adult. We never stayed in one place always country to country. Until that is it was time for me to go to school. Things settled down once I went to live with my father to begin schooling. He never condoned of my love of music and arts as any father would. He worried I would follow in my mothers career and he knew all to well the dangerous of the music industry for a young ambitious women. WHAT INSPIRES YOU WHEN YOU ARE WRITING? Life does. The things I live, the things I read in the news, the emotions sparked by different encounters. In some ways its a blessing to be able to reflect life this way. In another, its a curse if I am not experiencing new things, romance, educating myself on the world, well then I have nothing to sing about. In other ways if I am hit hard by a life experience I can be an endless well of lyrics. WHO GAVE YOU YOUR FIRST BREAK IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY? Steve Major, a fellow student at that time at recording arts institute of Canada, he was an intern at a recording studio in montreal, he heard me singing once at school and mention their was an artist from Berlin recording at his studio that was looking for a vocalist. This was my first vinyl release with an artists named geiger on firm records from Germany. YOU HAVE A FOURTH COMING ALBUM ENTITLED " KILL MY DEMONZ ", WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE AND WHATS THE STORY BEHIND IT? As all my songs are, they come from different experiences. Some of the songs are older some of them recent but I refuse to let any song get left behind. Might take time but I find a label for each style eventually so this album is a collection that actually took years to put together although, at the time of making them I had no idea they where ment for my second álbum. Many of the songs where recorded in different countries. While on tour with new people I met in each country, some of them created with close friends that I also knew from Berlin. I find inspiration in many things, sometimes it could be a newspaper article, sometimes a tattoo I see, or something someone says to me. Other times could be an experience that happens with a person I meet or the madness in my mind from the aftermath of meeting someone or going somewhere. YOU'RE A SONGWRITER, SINGER, DJ AND A LIVE PERFORMER, WHAT TOURING PLANS HAVE YOU GOT FOR 2014? I go where I am invited so I am never really sure where, as it´s a surprise although when I travel to visit loved ones I also try to arrange shows where they are to be able to perform for my friends. I would, however, really like to hit south Egypt, South America, Mexico, Hawaii, Australia, Asia, and India, this year perhaps. If it´s ment to be it will. Mostly I just enjoy learning about cultures and seeing ancient ruins. Touring for my music is just a good excuse to go and gives me a nice way to connect with people when I am in new places. IF YOU WEREN´T IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD? Having children. I am sure I can still work in music and do this as well. WHAT OTHER ARTISTS ARE YOU FEELING RIGHT NOW? If it´s in electronic music Aerea Negrot & Anthea. However I usually listen to rockabilly music or sometimes classical IF YOU COULD COLLABORATE WITH ANY 3 ARTISTS IN THE WORLD, WHO WOULD THEY BE AND WHY WOULD YOU CHOOSE THEM? Madonna, Ellen Allien & Trent Reznor. Their all amazing artists and I have enjoyed their music for a very long time. IF YOU COULD INVENT A NEW GENRE OF MUSIC WHAT WOULD YOU CALL IT? Electronic Oriental Jazz. IF YOU WERE BANISHED TO A DESERT ISLAND AND HAD TO TAKE 3 FAMOUS PEOPLE WITH YOU DEAD OR ALIVE WHO WOULD YOU TAKE? Nina Simone, Ray Charles & Big Momma Thornto.
