6. Lithium: Chemical name is Lithium Hypochlorite. How do 15 you identify it? The active constituent on the label will say that it is Lithium Hypochlorite. Lithium is usually more expensive than other forms of chlorine and because of this is generally used mainly for shock treatment and super chlorination of a pool. Lithium is totally soluble so can be added directly to pool water. It is suitable for all pool surfaces. Tip: If your pool has a pebble interior, NEVER let your chlorine level drop - this is because between every pebble is porous concrete. It's similar to mould growing on the grout between the tiles in a shower. Pebble pools, as beautiful as they are, are notorious for developing Black Spot Algae. This is one of the hardest algaes to eradicate. We believe it is best handled by a Pool Pro Professional. It appears as little black spots. The problem is that it has a hard crusty shell-like case. One needs to break the outer casing to allow any treatment to penetrate. You have to use elbow grease by brushing with a stainless steel brush or a special brush if your pool has a pebble interior. Once this is done Pool Pro Black Spot Remover is one of the fastest and most effective treatments to get rid of Black Spot fast. Tip: In a Salt Pool it is the best practice to use Pool Pro Stabilised Chlorine or Pool Pro 5 in 1, Pool Pro Lithium or Pool Pro Liquid Chlorine - NEVER Granular Chlorine (Calcium Hypochlorite).
