How much salt should I add to my pool? Salt chlorinators operate on a percentage of salt. The majority run around 3% to 7%. It is to be remembered that each brand runs at a different salt percentage level. It is therefore important for your Pool Professional to know what brand of chlorinator you have. This little table will give you a guide. Table is calculated on using 20kg (44.0925 lbs.) All chemical products by law must have a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Put simply a Material Safety Data Sheet is a document that contains information on the chemical make-up, use, storage, handling, emergency procedures and potential health effects related to a hazardous material. The MSDS contains much more information about the chemical than the label on the container. By law, MSD Sheets are to be supplied by the manufacturer or distributor. 45 Need a Pool Pro MSDS?
