Set for release in early 2015 the Prodigy's new album will reportedly "wipe the floor" with the DJ's currently on the scene. With growing discontent with the formulaic tendencies of today's EDM scene, the Prodigy are setting out to break the mould and show these tired DJ's how it's done. Liam Howlett told Q magazine that "dance music across all types has become formula-based. It's 'Here's your drum fill, here's your build.' All that DJ bollocks and tutorials on YouTube shit. This album is totally organic. Pure violent energy." The Prodigy's last studio album was way back in 2009, but the group have been destroying sell out stadium gigs and bringing their own brand of big break punk to adoring crowds ever since. With news they will be headlining next years Isle of Wight Festival, we have no doubt their return will be as triumphant as they claim. NEW BEGINNINGS THE PRODIGY RETURN The big beat bad boys are back Separately this duo each deserve this title, together its like they've taken the lollipop from our chubby baby fingers. Phace and Misanthrop's side project really came into its own this year. Taking elements from both individuals' seminal EPs last year, Space Gsus is a project that annihilates the boundaries of the genre and spearheads a daring new sound that only producers of this calibre are capable of. Neosignal's sound incorporates the dark machine like basslines of the producer's individual drum and bass excursions, swapping classic breaks for more unusual and experimental rhythms. Of all the artists currently creating drum and bass, Neosignal take the cake as the duo at the forefront of innovation and development of the genre.
