44 REGGAE / DANCE HALL guestlist.net Issue72 / 2015 After a long hiatus, the iconic Mystic Revealers have reunited to tour and release new material. The group's latest album Crucial Cuts gathers key tracks from the band's 20- year catalogue. The songs date back to the '80s - including 'Young Revolutionaries', 'Rasta Man', 'I'm Gonna Tell Ya' featuring Anthony B, and the Sizzla collaboration 'Tell Them'. Three decades after their earliest single releases, the band's message remains exactly the same as it did when Wilmot, Edwards, Henry and Davis first came together near the shores of Bull Bay. As Wilmot says, "We are like a postman...we might not be the ones who wrote the letter, even though the songs are ours. The messages being transmitted are from the Almighty-messages of love, honour, truth, justice and unity." Album of the month mystic ReveAleRs - cRuciAl cuts e Crucial Cuts marks the return of Billy Wilmot and Mystic Revealers to the reggae scene, with their first release since 2008. Scotch Bonnet Records keep up the pressure with 7 remixes from their recent album Serious Time. Covering styles from digi-dub to drum and bass, the reggae backbone is still evident throughout the release with remixes from the likes of Benny Page, Danny T & Tradesman, Prince Fatty, Casio Love, FleCK and is ticking all the boxes. Standout tracks include 'Bike Rider' featuring Pupajim, and 'Thousand Style' featuring Mr Williamz with Bim One on the remix. This is definitely a strong release and has something for everyone. We're seriously looking forward to more from Scotch Bonnet this year. news More @ guestlist.net/Reggae Scotch Bonnet cover a wide range of musical styles with the remixes on Serious Time scotch bonnet RecoRds deliveR some big Remixes Featuring Digital Niyabinghi (Jungle Dub Soundsystem) & guests Channel One, "Roots n' Culture meets Jungle n' Jungle Dub" in the heart of Brixton.
