Widow's Walk, a painstakingly detailed scene oI *OoXcester Komes, fisKinJ Eoats, anG tKe sea, took her 80 hours to carve. (A slip of the small-tipped knife can ruin an entire piece.) After carving and trimming, the piece is ready for printing. Garrison applies ink to a glass and rolls it onto the linoleum block. The block is pressed down onto paper or fabric by running it through the Acorn press. The oil-based ink can take days to several weeks to dry. Garrison's monocKromatic finisKeG proGXct is truly a homemade original. Though the process is time consuming and requires great patience, once created, the carved linoleum block can be used again and again. Garrison holds special events at her shop. It is open by appointment to people who want to purchase her work wholesale. Place orders through Etsy.com.
