Brodix STS BR 7 Cylinder Head Series The new STS BR7 BS 273™ from Brodix is the latest design for the LS-based racing engines, and a top choice among high-power engine builders. The BR7 comes out-of-the-box with 71cc combustion chambers, blended bowls, and matched intake ports. Brodix also offers an upgraded STS BR 7 cylinder head that is 100 percent CNC-ported and flows more than 375 cfm. Both models utilize a 12-degree valve angle and 2.204-inch intake and 1.614-inch exhaust valves. The BR 7 273 flows more than 415 cfm with a 71cc combustion chamber and uses the larger 2.250-inch intake valve. These heads, with an extremely strong deck surface, are manufactured from easily repairable A-356 aluminum alloy, lending them perfect for the rigors of hard-core off-road competition. Billet Bryan LS Crankshafts Components such as connecting rods, bearings and crankshafts continually take the brunt of wear when the reciprocating assembly is turning. For those reasons, Bryant’s LS Cranks are made using US Timken 4330M billet material (which is cleaner and stronger than traditional 4340 material), and are produced, heat treated (stress relief, temper, quench, cryogenic and Ion Plasma Nitrided) entirely in their USA facility. Doing the complete process in-house, allows for a tight control over every aspect of the production process. Bryant’s processes result in a “through hardness” that is optimal for the stresses put on the crankshaft in all racing applications, especially those in the brutal expanse of desert and off-road racing. Bryant cranks offer REM Isotropic Finish, a process where the surface finishing has a non-linear, low Ra finish that improves wear properties and reduces friction. The REM process removes all of the fine peaks and valleys which are potential stress risers, that are inherent in the machining process. It also helps with oil shed allowing the engine to run better and potentially increase horse power. For more information, call 714-535-2695, or visit www.bryantracing.com.
