18 ENGINE PERFORMANCE BOOSTERS 16 16 16 16 16 JESEL LS-Engine Belt Drive If there is one standard in the performance racing industry that engine builders consistently turn to, it's the durability of a belt cam-drive. Jesel offers a variety of belt drives that feature extremely accurate adjustable cam timing to help fine-tune and squeeze every ounce of horsepower from the GM LS family of engines. Easy cam changes is a hallmark for using a Jesel drive, as they can be swapped out by simply removing the upper pulley and cam seal plate. The use of Teflon® coated cam and crank seals insure correct oil and vacuum sealing. Jesel also uses a Gates High Torq Drive belt, which is custom made to the company's specifications, providing proper belt tension. They are also engineered to handle more than 1200-pounds of spring pressure. For certain applications, there are cam adapter assemblies available that are capable of reducing camshaft end-play down to as low as .001-inch. For more information, call 732-901-1800, or visit www.jesel.com. COMP CAMS® Elite Race™ Solid Roller Lifters Revolutionary solid roller lifter design from COMP Cams® is designed to withstand the most demanding racing and off-road conditions. In today's high-power environment, solid roller lifters face grueling punishment on every lap or stretch of the race course. The new Elite Race™ Solid Roller Lifters include a host of impressive features to stand up to the rigors of off-road competition. The lifters use an SAE 8620 alloy steel body that is CNC-machined and REM- finished, precision-ground SAE 9310 steel alloy wheels, and needles that are made from 52100 bearing steel and micro-sorted with a controlled contour profile. These lifters feature an exclusive body design that does not have an oil band, thus maximizing rigidity and reducing 15 15 lifter bushing wear. While the construction and body design make them incredibly strong, the lifters are also lightweight, with each weighing less than 100 grams. All lifter bodies are "tall" and will clear both stock and aftermarket .300" tall lifter bores, and will properly fit either 5/16" or 3/8-inch ball pushrods. Additionally, the oversized (.400") axles are pinned for strength and durability. Pressure-fed oil flows through the axle directly to the needles. Captured link bars allow for maximum control and durability at high RPM. The modular design allows the pushrod insert to be swapped out for centered, left or right offsets. And with oil control through the pushrod insert, engine builders can modify the lifter to meter extra oil to the top as desired. Elite Race™ Solid Roller Lifters are heat-treated, machined to high tolerances and are available for a number of LS-based applications.
