136 agenda was the Casino complex. "It really has some wonderful features to it," Murray says. "It's very rich in its architectural details." The buildings are highly ornamented, with balustrades and ornate reliefs, paving materials made of marble and brick, urns and statuaries, Tiffany lighting fixtures, and distinctive changes in elevation and plantings "that sort of captured all of the Italian inspiration," says Murray. "It's a very rich, intriguing space that was a center for fun and entertainment," he says. The restoration team wanted to revamp all of the Casino complex's original architectural and decorative elements and landscaping details. Luckily, the area was well documented with photographs. The team reused as much of the original materials as they could, and what they couldn't reuse, they re-created with minute atten- tion to color, form, and texture. Some of the rails on the balustrades, for example, are reproductions and indistin- guishable from the originals.
