isit downtown Columbus,
Ohio at night and you'll be
drawn to a single beam of
light illuminating the dark
sky. Like the bat signal, a 135-foot light
calls all capital city visitors to come see
Nationwide Arena.
"Fans and visitors see that light can-
non every night when they're coming
and going from Nationwide Arena," said
Ian Huffman, Nationwide Arena's Ice
Technician. "It's an extra feature that spot-
lights us and all of the events we put on."
Nationwide Arena sits in the heart of
Columbus' Arena District. Since opening
in the fall of 2000, it has become a desti-
nation. Nationwide is home to the NHL's
Columbus Blue Jackets but has played
host to a number of other premier events,
including the 2015 NHL All-Star Game,
college basketball tournaments, big-name
concerts, and now, the North American
Rink Conference and Expo (NARCE).
