Employers are even "asking shortlisted candi- dates to sign forms stating that they can contact anyone with whom you have worked, not just your formal references," accord- ing to Bruce Sandy, of Pathfinder Coaching and Consulting. He said that candidates may not be selected if they don't allow the potential employer to talk to former co-workers.
