H&M have a strong high fashion history – Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, Donatella Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld have all produced collections for the high-street giant, and now they're adding Balmain to the list. Olivier Rousteing announced the news on the Billboard Music Awards red carpet, with Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn in tow, and all three were wearing select pieces from the upcoming collection. This is big deal for both parties, as Rousteing explained to Style. com: "When you do a collaboration with H&M, it's a big step in the fashion industry. It's a big achievement, professionally and also personally. Professionally, you build a world and they want to be part of it. They want to be part of the Balmain army, which is amazing. Personally, it's an amazing challenge as a designer to make a collection for the street market and for the entire world…I've always been loud about being about diversity and the world. So it's perfect." Balmain's designs are at the very top end of the market, so we're certain that this luxe for less collection will fly off the shelves when it drops November 5th. H&M is teaming up with the French fashion house for their next designer collab Following in the footsteps of Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, who was also a Cavalli girl, Ciara is the latest hip-hop queen to turn high fashion star. According to Cavalli, Ciara "embodies beauty with a hint of wildness", and we have to say, the photographs by Francesco Carrozzini are stunning. Ciara told Style.com how the collaboration came about, "I had a marvellous night dancing with Mr Cavalli last fall in Dubai, and now my dream of being in one of their campaigns has come true…I grew up truly admiring the beautiful collections and dreaming of wearing them. I am excited that also now my friend Peter Dundas will be at the creative helm, and I look forward to his creations." This isn't her first time working in the fashion world – back in 2009 she was a muse for Ricardo Tisci, and she worked with Vogue Italia's Franca Sozzani on the cover of her new album Jackie. And from the looks of this campaign, her fashion reign is only just starting.
