Get ready for super summer vibes. GuEStLiSt REcommENdS: GiLLES PEtERSoN x REGGAE RoASt Gilles Peterson is going reggae on June 20th Major Lazer are sticking to tradition by marrying the biggest names in dancehall with up-and-comers and mainstream mainstays on their new album Peace Is The Mission, but this time their giving listeners even more exciting names. Guest contributors on the new record include Elliphant, Wild Belle, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Travi$ Scott, Jovi Rockwell, Mad Cobra, Nyla, and Chronixx. The album also contains a re-work of the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack song 'All My Love', Ariana Grande and Trinidadian star Michel Montano. Single 'Lean On', featuring Danish songstress MØ was an international runaway hit, smashing up the Shazam and Spotify charts, and for the latest single 'Powerful', Major Lazer has drafted in the silky vocals of Ellie Goulding and the reggae stylings of Tarrus Riley. This summer anthem is sure to dominate the airwaves in the weeks to come. With the group playing the main stage at Wireless Festival on July 3rd, and putting on an equally huge UK headline tour this autumn culminating in an epic London show at Alexandra Palace (with support from Mumdance & Novelist and Elliphant), Major Lazer are continuing to prove that they are everyone's favourite 'future dancehall trio' and that in 2015, peace is indeed the mission. To celebrate the fact that they've built their very own soundsystem, the brains behind the Reggae Roast outfit decided to create a summer anthem to blare through the speakers. And to make it something really special, they've drafted in reggae legend MC Brother Culture to provide the vocals. As well as the original, Benny 'Digital Soundboy' Page has also delivered a remix, adding a modern dancehall edge to the track. 'Soundsystem' is quite simply a monster riddim that is going to sound so, so good all summer long.
