As a senior at Indianapolis Warren Central, he graduated halfway through his senior year, although he did admit the "last-minute decision" to do so in order to enroll early at Notre Dame in January 2012 came with some reservations. "Everyone was talking about how fun the second semester of the senior year was, so it was like, 'Do I really want to do this?'" Day recalled. "It just clicked in my head that it was time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life. As I went through that first semester and summer school session [at Notre Dame], it built up more confidence." The self-assuredness became so strong, Day then set a goal to graduate from Notre Dame's prestigious Mendoza School of Business — the five-time reigning No. 1 undergraduate business school in the nation, per Bloomberg Business Week — in three years. He is less than two hours short.
