Vivienne Westwood is not one to keep
quiet. She recently drove a tank to David
Cameron's house to protest against the
government's fracking plans, and ahead
of her Red Label S/S 16 show at London
Fashion Week, she took to the streets
with a band of models for a 'Fash Mob',
parading with signs reading "Climate
Revolution", "Austerity is a Crime",
"Fracking is a Crime" and "Politicians Are
Criminals".
Her collection, entitled 'Mirror the
World', continued the protest theme.
As she told The Guardian, "You have
to understand the world you live in,
and you should be a little splinter that
mirrors the world." The show of course
referenced her punk heritage, with
models sporting anarchic, Mad Max-
esque make up, but it also referenced
austerity, with more minimalist and
structured clothes.
Westwood has always been vocal about
political and environmental issues, and
we can't wait to see how she stages
her next protest. Long live the anti-
establishment queen.
