7 21 Issue 80 / 2015 FESTIVALS guestlist.net Scene-defining Southampton club Junk has launched an exciting new night entitled Not Your Thing The weekly Saturday party will see the likes of Sante, Sidney Charles, Bicep, Tom Trago, Secondcity and more all play the coming weeks. Junk Club has toured across Europe with parties in ibiza, Berlin, Serbia, Croatia and across the States, and Not Your Thing will follow in its footsteps, but will offer a more boutique style party with up close and personal events headlined by only the most considered DJs. The party has already got off to a flying start with a hugely atmospheric and vibe- fuelled event with Defected's Flashmob and Jozef K. Luca from the team at Junk explains the thinking behind this new night: "Not Your Thing is built on musical integrity, not commercial hype. It's designed for music loving people who are looking and listening that little bit harder and for those that want to. Some names will be familiar and some may not be but the focus is solely on talented DJs from established names to future stars. Just trust us…" And you should trust Junk, because for years now it has been the leading underground light on the south coast. They also boast parties like Bang Bang, have won DJ Mag's Best Small Club award, and is known and loved for serving up serious music in a not so serious environment. Avotre head honcho Sante plays on the 24th October and will be sure to serve up a tough, sweat inducing house set that keeps the floor packed out. After that it's Junk Presents Fakeblood and Luca Pilato on October 31st, and over the course of November and December, the likes of Watergate, Sidney Charles, Tom Trago, Ben Pearce and Bicep all roll into town. This is an exciting new night for a club that has been doing the dance right for a decade now. Head soutH for Junk's stellar winter series
